Goa is one of the most famous tourist destinations of the nation. It has a rich flora and fauna that is compared by many with that of the Amazon bay and the Congo bay. What makes Goa all the more special is the rich history of the state that dates back to the 3rd century BC when it was ruled by the emperor Ashoka of the Mauryan Empire. In the year 1510, the Portuguese defeated the existing kings of the state and thus the foundation of the Portuguese rule was established that lasted till 1961 when it was annexed in India.

Apart from the wonderful geography and a rich history, Goa is also well known for its beautiful monuments and an excellent hospitality. The various holiday homes in Goa, guest house in Goa, resorts and other similar places to stay are all tastefully done and well maintained. They offer the tourists visiting the place a chance to have a wonderful stay in the state.

The other most important things notable about Goa is the congenial and a compassionate behaviour of the natives of the land. Different cultures co-exist in the state and the locals here make sure that the tourists who visit the land have an exceptional experience.
